"Miss" Sharon Gregory, Director

Though usually known only as "Miss Sharon," Sharon Gowan Gregory has been an Isle of Wight resident since 1974.  She is a former realtor and presently serves as the pianist of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Carrollton and Riverview United Methodist Church in Rescue (her home church), where she is also head of the Staff-Parish Relations and Outreach Committees.  Her husband, Don Gregory, manages the Dollar Tree near Chesapeake Square Mall.  He is also widely known as the "Voice of the Chargers" at Isle of Wight Academy, announcing football games and acting as Master of Ceremonies for the annual "Miss IWA Pageant."  They have two sons.  The elder, Andrew, is an alumnus of Christopher Newport University and is a financial advisor for Edward Jones at Eagle Harbor.  He is married to the former Kimberly Wells, also a CNU graduate, a teacher at Hampton Roads Academy, and former Miss Sharon's assistant.  Miss Sharon's younger son, Aaron, is a recent graduate of the College of William & Mary and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Comparative History there.  Andrew, Kim, and Aaron have all worked at Miss Sharon's.  Miss Sharon has two grandchildren, Gavin and Riley Gregory, both students at Isle of Wight Academy (their parents' and uncle's alma mater) and children at Miss Sharon's.

In addition to our outstanding regular staff through the years, Miss Sharon's has also had a few four-legged "honorary staff members," such as Prissie Clark, shown here helping the kids celebrate a birthday party on the front deck.
